The Battle of the Bands has been so successful, AOL Music plans to launch another series of artist match-ups on a weekly basis later this year. See how the war was won:

She floated like a 'Butterfly' and stung heavyweights like Hilary Duff, Destiny’s Child and Green Day like a bee. Mariah’s got a five-octave range and she's not afraid to use it. And when the battle got tough, this seasoned pro was ready to 'Shake It Off' and keep on swingin.'

Def Leppard proved to be the most popular classic rockers.

If New Jersey's emo-goth quintet hadn't won, we're not sure we would have been able to console them. Luckily, the gloomy guys of MCR trounced Audioslave, Taking Back Sunday and John Mayer to snag the indie prize. And they did it all without smudging their eyeliner, natch.

Bruised and battered from rough 'n' tumble wrassles with Sir Paul McCartney and Motley Crue, Def Leppard pulled itself up by its bootstraps and pressed on to defeat James Taylor. Take a 'Photograph' of this sweet victory, boys, before the 'Rock of Ages' rolls on!

OH YEAH!
